Located above Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, Madison Square Garden is exceptionally convenient for visitors arriving by train or subway. Its central location also places the arena within easy reach of the surrounding Herald Square and Chelsea neighborhoods, making it practical to plan a meal or transit connection around the show.

Venue and Seating Information

Madison Square Garden is an indoor arena with a circular, four-level seating bowl: Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level, and 300 Level. For concerts, the 100 Level generally balances closeness and visibility, while the elevated 200 Level can provide a clear view of the full stage. Floor arrangements vary by event and may include reserved seats or general admission.

Lower-bowl side sections near center stage and select central 200 Level sections are strong options for combining sound, angle, and an overall view. Seats behind the stage or in extreme upper corners may offer a less complete perspective, depending on the production layout.

Parking Information

Parking around the arena is limited, and event-night demand can affect both availability and cost. Consider reserving a garage space ahead of time or using public transportation; the venue sits directly above Penn Station.

Nearby commercial garages: Garages around Penn Station and 8th Avenue are typically a short walk away. Event parking is approximately $30–$80, with prices potentially higher on busy nights.

Garages farther away: Options toward Herald Square or Chelsea may be a 10–15-minute walk and commonly range from about $20–$50, depending on demand.

Street parking: Metered spaces are scarce and subject to strict restrictions, making them an unreliable choice for event parking.

Avoid relying on last-minute parking close to the arena, where garages may fill quickly and prices can rise. If using a rideshare, allow extra time after the show: traffic congestion around Midtown and Penn Station can delay pickups.
